Have you ever met or have anyone in your life who thinks they are better and more religious than others? They believe that they are so holy that a place in Gods heaven is a sure thing. Some even think that their prayers are the only ones that are heard by god, while the rest of us will just burn in hell. Im sure you have met plenty, cause I know I have.
I was having lunch today and one of the topics we talked about was how some people in this world actually do admit openly that they are a "good person". Not realising that it just shows how insecure they are and sadly how sad it is to be living in such a cacooned life. Famous phrases they tend to use
"I am religious and pious...faith be with me as I am always on time for prayers and the others, well they are not as good as me. Damnation..hell is where they belong!"
Ok, I might be overreacting here a bit but, believe me, there are plenty out there who do think this way. Im not a very religious person myself and I do admit that. I dont pray 5 times a day and I dont read the Yassin every Thursday night nor do I piously replace my days of fasting which I missed due to my monthly womanly routines. Yes, I am not ashamed to admit that I may not be the best muslim alive on this earth, but tell me...who is?
Even though a person may pray 5 times a day and not miss a day of fasting or read the Quran day and night...it does not make them a good person. It does make them a good muslim, I agree but a good person is judged by how they behave and treat others. God knows, I have seen these type of people treat others like dogs. Not to mention they frown and look down on those who do not live their lives like how they do. Honestly, is this really the true teachings of Islam, to judge and discriminate how others chose to live their lives? I wonder, if these people or persons are truly happy being the way they are.
I guess im exhausted having to deal with these people day and night. Why cant they just leave people alone and stop being so prejudice! I respect their devotion but, I know God does not descriminate...so why should they? Do they think they are better than god, that it gives them the right to judge? They must remember, that in the end of the day, we all stand infront of God and his angels representing ourselves and bare all responsibilities for all the actions and words we said and did. So no one should judge another, it just shows that these people are just a bunch of "MUNAFIQ".
For all of you out there..just chill and swallow a chill pill once in a while. Life is too short to be hovering into other people's business. Just enjoy life, embrace it and mind your own business. Only then maybe...I might consider giving you my respect and perhaps even consider you as a good role model. Till then... look into the mirror and try to reflect. Islam does encourage its followers to reflect and improve. Its time.
